Prof. Mimi SamuelMimi Samuel teaches Legal Writing at Seattle University School of Law and is a frequent presenter on legal writing and pedagogy at conferences worldwide.  She is a cofounder and the first U.S. co-president of APPEAL (Academics Promoting the Pedagogy of Effective Advocacy in Law), an organization dedicated to promoting the teaching of legal writing and the exchange of information among academics in the U.S. and Africa.

Prof. Samuel was the recipient of the first Bronson Dillehay Award from the American Society of Trial Consultants for her article “Focus on Batson: Let the Cameras Roll,” which discusses the use of videotapes of voir dire proceedings to help courts assess attorneys’ stated nondiscriminatory reasons for striking jurors.
